Class Levels

Rojas Spanish follows the 6 Spanish levels determined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). These levels are expressed as A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. The CEFR Spanish levels are widely accepted as the global standard for grading an individual’s language proficiency.

Although not recognized as a CEFR level, Rojas Spanish offers a Starter Class designed for learners who have no previous Spanish experience. This class will start at the very beginning. Starter classes can also serve as a review if you learned Spanish years ago and need a refresher.

Elementary: You can understand and use basic expressions to meet basic needs, introduce yourself and others, and interact as long as the other person speaks slowly and clearly.

Pre-Intermediate: You can comprehend sentences and frequently used expressions related to various intermediate areas like shopping, family, and employment, and communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information.

Intermediate: You can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters encountered in work, school, or leisure-related topics, deal with most situations while traveling, and produce simple connected texts on familiar or personally interesting topics.

Upper Intermediate: You can grasp the main ideas of complex texts on concrete and abstract topics, interact with fluency and spontaneity, produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects, and explain viewpoints on topical issues by weighing advantages and disadvantages.

Advanced: You can understand a wide range of demanding, longer clauses, express ideas fluently and spontaneously for various purposes, and produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects.

Master/Fluent: You can understand virtually everything heard or read, summarize information from different sources, express yourself spontaneously and precisely, and differentiate finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.
